Bringing Modernism Home: Ohio Decorative Arts 1890-1960

Ceramics, glass, furniture, and metal-work are among the media and forms featured in Bringing Modernism Home: Ohio Decorative Arts, 1890-1960. Published in conjunction with the 2005 exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art, Bringing Modernism Home showcases the many contributions that Ohio made in decorative arts during an important seventy-year period. It explores, with illustrated examples of work from more than 120 artists and companies, Ohioans' influence in bringing international vanguard movements - such as Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, and Biomorphism - out of art galleries and museums and into homes.
